The Future of North Atlantic Cooperation: A Spanish Perspective

We were honoured to host a virtual discussion with H.E. Enrique Ruiz Molero, Ambassador of Spain to Canada on May 25th at 10 AM ET! The event was hosted by Dr. Tina Park, Vice-President of the NATO Association of Canada. View the conversation on our YouTube channel here.

The discussion focused on Canada-Spain relations, security interests, transatlantic relations and the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. It also touched upon many other interesting subjects!

Ambassador Enrique Ruiz Molero has enjoyed an extensive career in the Spanish Diplomatic service. First joining in 1979, his appointments have included: the Ambassador of Spain to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania and Mali; the Consul General of Spain in Perpignan, France; the Consul General of Spain in Los Angeles, USA; and the Ambassador of Spain to Canada since 2017.

Ambassador Ruiz Molero has also held several positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation in Madrid including the Deputy Director of the Spanish Diplomatic School, and Director General of the Foreign Service.

His Excellency holds a Bachelor degree in Law from Universidad Complutense, Madrid, and attended the Spanish Diplomatic School in Madrid where he pursued International Studies.

Dr. Tina J. Park is the Vice-President of the NATO Association of Canada and a Fellow at the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs. She is also the CEO of The Park Group, a boutique consulting agency which specializes in emerging challenges in global governance and Canadian foreign policy. She is a frequent commentator in the media on North Korea & security in the Asia-Pacific region. She is currently co-editing a book on Canada & the Asia-Pacific with Prof. Fen Hampson (NPSIA) and President Goldy Hyder of the Business Council of Canada. (http://www.theparkgroup.ca/).

We are constantly working to create and maintain relationships with international organizations such as the World Bank Group, the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development, NATO Headquarters, the International Criminal Court, and other prominent international NGOs and think tanks.
