SPEAKERS:

Dr. Alexander Ferworn is a Professor of Computer Science in the Faculty of Science at Ryerson University. He serves as Associate Chair and Director of Graduate Programs within his Department and as Faculty Liaison between Ryerson’s G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education and the Faculties of Science, and Engineering and Architectural Science. He is also the Academic Coordinator for Ryerson’s Certificate Program in Disaster and Emergency Management.

Mr. Dan Hefkey is currently the Ontario Commissioner for Community Safety where he leads a group of 81 emergency management specialists. The team coordinates, develops and implements prevention, mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery strategies to maintain and enhance the safety and security of Ontarians.

Mr. Jean- Jacques Rousseau was formerly an economist for the Ministry of Finance and a community safety advisor for the deputy minister responsible for Emergency Management Ontario.  He is currently a PhD Candidate in Philosophy of Science at the University of Toronto, where he studies scientific change and business innovation.

We are constantly working to create and maintain relationships with international organizations such as the World Bank Group, the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development, NATO Headquarters, the International Criminal Court, and other prominent international NGOs and think tanks.
