Toronto, ON – At its Annual General Meeting on June 11, 2013, the NATO Council of Canada elected its new Chairman, Senator Hugh Segal, who takes over from The Hon. Bill Graham.

“It was an honour to serve as Chairman for the past five years, and I know that Senator Segal will lead the NATO Council onto even greater success”, Mr Graham said as he stepped down, adding that he would continue to contribute to the organization in a supporting role as Immediate Past Chairman.

Senator Segal, in accepting the position, stated both his appreciation for the confidence bestowed on him and his optimism for the future of the organization. “I look forward to serving this organization and its members, and continuing the legacy left by The Hon. Mr Graham”, he said.

Senator Segal has been a Director of the NATO Council of Canada for many years, and the Members and Directors of the NATO Council of Canada are delighted to welcome him as Chairman of the organization. They also thank The Hon. Bill Graham for his tremendous work and ongoing support.
