Joy Aguilar holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from McGill University with a major in Political Science and a minor in Religion and Globalization. Her professional interests lie in sustainable development and humanitarian affairs. In the area of sustainable development, Joy recently served as an intern for the Office of the United Nations (UN) Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth, supporting youth engagement in the 2015 UN Sustainable Development Summit. In the area of humanitarian affairs, she has researched on refugee policy for the G20 Research Group at the Munk School of Global Affairs and on human rights issues in Kenya for the Montreal Institute for Genocide and Human Rights Studies. She plans to pursue graduate studies in public administration or public policy.
