Dara Gillis is currently the Membership Marketing intern at the NATO Association of Canada. He has a BA in Geography and Archaeology and an MA in Geopolitics and the Global Economy from University College Dublin. Dara’s interests lie in the geopolitical side, in particular on oil and gas diplomacy. He focused on this area in his dissertation in which he wrote on the mismanagement of revenue from the oil and gas sector on the continent of Africa. Here, he also focused on the hard power approach of the U.S. and the soft power approach China chooses to use in Africa. Dara seeks to further to pave a career path in this field and actively searches for solutions to these international issues.
