Anna Lysenko is currently a Cyber Risk Analyst at Deloitte. She graduated from the University of Toronto in June 2024 with an Honours Bachelor of Arts as an International Relations Specialist. Anna is passionate about cybersecurity, global affairs, and cyberpolitics, particularly the dynamic intersection of how cyberspace shapes international conflicts. She is also deeply passionate about the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian War.
Anna developed a deep curiosity for the dynamic world of international relations in high school, when she got the unique opportunity to do a short, informal internship at the United Nations. Upon joining the University of Toronto, Anna was drawn to cyberpolitics during a first-year course, where she was introduced to the fascinating world of cyberspace, cyberattacks, and disinformation. Since then, Anna’s interest, skills, and experience in cyberpolitics have increased through internships at Captiva Solutions and Deloitte, as well as research opportunities at the Laidlaw Scholars Leadership and Research Programme and the University of Toronto’s Senior Thesis and Thesis Seminar. As an extension of the latter, Anna co-published a research paper with Professor Seva Gunitsky, titled “The invisible front: Ukraine’s IT army and the evolution of cyber resistance”.
As a full-time Cyber Risk Analyst in Deloitte’s Cyber Strategy Team, Anna is at the cutting edge of cybersecurity evolutions across industries. She is also an active member of the University of Toronto’s alumni community. Anna is excited to bring her enthusiasm for innovative research to the NATO Association’s Cyber Security and Emerging Threats program.
