Listen as I interview Mr. Albert Wong. He was appointed Citizenship Judge for the Greater Toronto Area in June 2014 and he has over thirty-five years of service in the Canadian Armed Forces. Over his career, he has served in various public affairs positions with the military across Canada, with the United Nations in Eritrea and Ethiopia, and in Afghanistan. As a volunteer, he has made valuable leadership contribution to a number of organizations including as Chair of the Mississauga Board of Chinese Professionals and Businesses (CPB). Born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, he is a 2012 recipient of the Chinese Canadian Legend Award. He is currently serving as the Chief Aide-de-Camp to the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario and was awarded the Vice-Regal commendation in 2014.
Mr. Wong received recognition and an award for outstanding service to the Office of the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario in February 2014. In addition, he was also presented with the 2012 Chinese Canadian Legend Award from the Asian Business Network Association. The award recognizes and honours Chinese Canadians who have made significant contributions to the community and Canada through outstanding achievements in their field. Listen as Mr. Wong discuss what it felt like receiving the award from the Office of the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario.
In addition, Mr. Wong also received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal from the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, the Public Affairs Special Recognition Award from the Assistant Deputy Minister (Public Affairs), Department of National Defence, and he received the South-West Asia Service Medal from the Canadian Forces. These are a few of the many awards earned by Mr. Wong.
