Shon Fridman

Shon is an incoming Master’s in Law student at Leiden University in the Netherlands, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Queen Mary, University of London. Shon’s continued interest in international law, geopolitics and project management serves as a foundation for the role of Event Coordinator at the NATO Association, where he aims to bring a legal perspective into organization of diplomatic and ambassadorial speaking events.

Shon is fluent in French and Russian, and brings a multicultural perspective to support his peers. Joining the events team for the upcoming internship term, Shon aims to connect members of the Canadian public to key figures within the NATO organization, and looks forward to supporting the association’s mission of promoting peace, prosperity and security through event coordination and public engagement.

    As a leading member of the Atlantic Treaty Association (ATA), NATO Association of Canada has strong and enduring ties with sister organizations in many of the alliance countries, as well as members of NATO’s “Partnership for Peace” and “Mediterranean Dialogue” programmes. The NAOC has had a leading role in the recent transformation and modernization of the ATA, and helped to create and develop the Youth Atlantic Treaty Association (YATA).

    The NAOC has strong ties with the Government of Canada including Global Affairs Canada and the Department of National Defence. We are constantly working to create and maintain relationships with international organizations such as the World Bank Group, the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development, NATO Headquarters, the International Criminal Court, and other prominent international NGOs and think tanks.
