Rudy Yuan is a Junior Research Fellow at the NATO Association of Canada writing for the Society, Culture, and Security program. He is pursuing a Master of Global Affairs at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at the University of Toronto.
Mr. Yuan entered the NATO Association in September 2025. He holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts with High Distinction in international relations, German studies, and political science from the University of Toronto. His fields of interest include Canadian and European security policy, nuclear weapons, civil defence and resilience, international relations history, and Canadian and German politics. In April 2026, he was awarded the Outstanding Junior Research Fellow Award.
Outside the NATO Association, Mr. Yuan served as a German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Young Ambassador from 2025 to 2026 and has transatlantic experience working in non-profit organizations for public transit and sustainability. In addition to English, he is fluent in German and Mandarin Chinese, with a basic knowledge of French.
