Raisa Harusova

Raisa is a Social Media Coordinator at the NATO Association of Canada, where she is supporting the Association’s digital presence with the key goal of strengthening public understanding of the Canadian political landscape and role in global security. This term, she is focusing on building early awareness of Canadian governance and policy among high school students.

Outside of her role at the Association, Raisa is a fourth-year student at the University of Toronto pursuing a specialist in Management with focuses in Marketing and Strategy at Rotman Commerce, alongside minors in Economics and Visual Studies. She is also the incoming President of the Global Research and Consulting Group, a consulting organization that partners with NGOs across Canada. Through leading projects that range from analyzing global policy challenges to navigating local contract negotiations, Raisa has developed a deeper interest in exploring the future of Canada’s role in international relations. Additionally, her years of marketing work experience at an advertising agency have given her a unique insider perspective on digital engagement in Canada.

Having grown up in Ukraine, Raisa brings a deeply personal understanding of the importance of cooperation across borders. This background continues to inform her dedication to civic education, international dialogue, and strengthening the public awareness of Canada’s role within the global community.

The NAOC has had a leading role in the recent transformation and modernization of the ATA, and helped to create and develop the Youth Atlantic Treaty Association (YATA).

    The NAOC has strong ties with the Government of Canada including Global Affairs Canada and the Department of National Defence. We are constantly working to create and maintain relationships with international organizations such as the World Bank Group, the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development, NATO Headquarters, the International Criminal Court, and other prominent international NGOs and think tanks.
