Karim N. Kanji

Karim N. Kanji is president and chief executive officer of Sutter Hill Investment Corporation. Sutter Hill is a real estate investment, development and property management company founded in Toronto, whose roots go back to 1992, with properties in five Canadian provinces and the United States. While at Sutter Hill, Karim has acquired office, retail, industrial and multifamily properties in North America.

Mr. Kanji was born in London, England and holds both British and Canadian citizenships. He was educated at Bayview Glen, Toronto, and Western University, where he first studied industrial and organizational psychology, and later returned to earn a history BA. He is currently studying guitar at the Royal Conservatory of Music.

Mr. Kanji, a noted philanthropist sits on the boards or has been involved with several arts, political and charitable organizations, including the Bayview Glen Foundation, Junior Achievement of Central Ontario, MacIdeas, Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation, Royal Conservatory of Music, Santa Claus Parade, Seventh Stage Theatrical Productions, The Honourable Company of Freemen of the City of London of North America, Sistema Toronto. In addition, he is also Chairman of The Glenn Gould Foundation – Council of Fellows and also a board member, Officer and Vice President the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Association of Canada.

    The NAOC has strong ties with the Government of Canada including Global Affairs Canada and the Department of National Defence. We are constantly working to create and maintain relationships with international organizations such as the World Bank Group, the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development, NATO Headquarters, the International Criminal Court, and other prominent international NGOs and think tanks.
