Daniel (Dany) Horovitz volunteers as the Honourary Solicitor for the NATO Association of Canada, where he works closely with the President and CEO, and the rest of the executive, to support the Association’s various annual and ad-hoc activities including its internship program and events focused on promoting civil society and the importance of Canadian membership in NATO. On a full-time basis, Dany is also a Senior Risk Manager at a large Canadian bank, where he provides objective guidance and challenge to the bank’s corporate functions relating to operational risks, including internal processes/protocols, internal loss events, emerging risks, regulatory guidance, and industry best practices. Prior to joining the bank, Dany provided risk advisory consulting services to business clients at a top international accounting and consulting firm.
Outside of these endeavours, Dany is also a director of the Alumni Association at the University of Western Ontario Faculty of Law, where he has also guest lectured the topic of regulatory compliance. On an annual basis, Dany participates in Toronto’s “Lawyer Show” where he performs on stage in a musical production along with 40 other lawyers, to raise money for the Nightwood Theatre (Canada’s preeminent feminist theatre company).
Dany holds a Bachelor of Art (with distinction) in English Literature and Politics from McGill University, a Juris Doctor from The University of Western Ontario, and a Master of Business Administration (with distinction) from the Richard Ivey School of Business. He is a barrister and solicitor in Ontario and completed his articles at a full-service firm downtown Toronto.
