Angus MacKellar is a Junior Research Fellow at the NATO Association of Canada, working within the Indo-Pacific and NATO program. He is completing an Honours Bachelor of Arts at the University of Toronto (Trinty College) studying International Relations as well as Peace, Conflict and Justice. Currently, Mr. MacKellar is a Trade Associate with the United States Department of Commerce, and serves as the Director of Operations of the University of Toronto’s Global Governance Program. He holds a Certificate of Studies in Social Sciences and Humanities from L’Institut d’études politiques de Paris (Sciences Po) and has published extensive research on the G7, having attended G7 summits in Italy and Canada. Mr. MacKellar’s external research surrounds the history of private intelligence, particularly in the United Kingdom, corollary to his research interests in British, Commonwealth, and intelligence history. As a leading member of the Atlantic Treaty Association (ATA), NATO Association of Canada has strong and enduring ties with sister organizations in many of the alliance countries, as well as members of NATO’s “Partnership for Peace” and “Mediterranean Dialogue” programmes. The NAOC has had a leading role in the recent transformation and modernization of the ATA, and helped to create and develop the Youth Atlantic Treaty Association (YATA).
The NAOC has strong ties with the Government of Canada including Global Affairs Canada and the Department of National Defence. We are constantly working to create and maintain relationships with international organizations such as the World Bank Group, the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development, NATO Headquarters, the International Criminal Court, and other prominent international NGOs and think tanks.
