Mathew Borden is currently undertaking a Master of Science degree in International Relations from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. Prior to his postgraduate studies, he graduated with honours and distinction from the University of Toronto as a specialist in Political Science. His undergraduate research revolved around defence policies, diplomacy, and political risk analysis. Mathew specifically focused on maritime security, Canadian Arctic defence, and the use of airpower against non-state actors.
In his free time, Mathew has a passion for aviation and is undergoing private pilot training. He is also a skilled ski-mountaineer and has travelled the world pursuing this passion.
