2013 Tribute Dinner Speaker: Ambassador Erik Vilstrup Lorenzen

With the NATO Council of Canada’s 2013 Award Tribute Dinner two weeks away (May 15), we would like to highlight some of the speakers and Guests of Honour attending our tribute dinner. His Excellency, Erik Vilstrup Lorenzen, Ambassador of Denmark to Canada will be speaking at our award ceremony.

Ambassador Erik Vilstrup Lorenzen began his post as Danish Ambassador to Canada in 2009. Before this post, he served as the Chief Advisor to then Prime Minister, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, on European Union matters, from 2006 to 2009. In 2005, Lorenzen worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Head of Department of EU Policy. In 2003, he was Head of Department of Policy Planning in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Lorenzen has held previous postings at the Danish Embassy in London and at the EU-representation in Brussels. Erik Vilstrup Lorenzen has a degree in political science from the University of Aarhus in Denmark and has studied political science and journalism in the United States.

Canada and Denmark are partners and allies in a strong bilateral relationship. We are honored His Excellency will be speaking at our tribute dinner, and we look forward to celebrating Troels Frøling’s accomplishments together.
