Kriti Samnotra is a 4th-year undergraduate student at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. She is currently pursuing a major in Economics with a minor in Political Science. Her previous internship was with the Bureau of Research on Industry and Economic Fundamentals (BRIEF). Through her work with BRIEF, Kriti had the opportunity to work with other think-tanks, industry stalwarts and government bureaucrats on various research studies such as ‘Enhancing India’s Footprints in Development Assistance in the Indo-Pacific’ and ‘Feasibility Study on Maritime Trade Route between Chennai, India and Vladivostok, Russia’. She had the opportunity to publish an article on ‘Student Exchange Programs as Facilitators of Economic Cooperation in the SAARC Region’. She has also worked as a research assistant at the Gokhale School of Economics and Political Science, one of the top universities in India for higher education in social sciences. Kriti assisted in writing a paper on the failure of university level education in Maharashtra, India as well as identifying strategies to improve the standard of education. The paper was part of a working series aimed at informing political parties of policy issues ahead of the 2019 state elections.
