The NATO Council of Canada is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization, founded in 1966 to promote knowledge and understanding of international peace and security and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in Canada.
The Council is dedicated to the view that the transatlantic relationship between Canada, the United States, and the nations of Europe, is of critical importance to Canada in terms of culture, security and economic prosperity. In order to realize this vision as the premier sponsor and support organization of NATO in Canada, the NATO Council of Canada performs a number of fund raising, public outreach, and educational initiatives.
