The Honourable Jason Kenney, Minister of Defence

  The Honourable Jason Kenney, MP for the Alberta Riding, Calgary East was appointed Minister of National Defence in 2015.  He chairs the Cabinet  Committee on Operations, is the Regional Minister for Southern Alberta, and sits on the Cabinet Committees for Foreign Affairs and Security and Planning and Priorities.

 

 

 

Tim HewishExecutive Director of Commonwealth Exchange

Tim Hewish is the Executive Director & Co-Founder of Commonwealth Exchange. He has a Masters in Imperial & Commonwealth History from King’s College London and a strong knowledge of the Commonwealth as author of a number reports on trade, education, and defence; he is also a published Institute of Economic Affairs’ author as well as having seven years of political experience in the UK Parliament and Westminster.

 

 

 

 

The Honourable Hugh Segal, Chair of  the NATO Association of Canada

The Honorable Hugh Segal is the Master of Massey College and the chair of the NATO Association of Canada.  He is also a Senior Fellow of the Munk School of Global Affairs.  He is a former Chief of Staff to Prime Minister Brian Mulroney in the 1990s, a former Associate Cabinet Secretary in Ontario in the late 1970s and early 1980s, and in June, 2014, he finished a nine year term as Senator representing Ontario.

Join the Honorable Jason Kenney, Honorable Hugh Segal and Tim Hewish as they explore the role of the Commonwealth in worldwide issues. They will also assess future opportunities for the Commonwealth such as forming a Commonwealth Security Forum, a Commonwealth Military Scholarship, and Commonwealth Officer Exchange Programmes. The conference will include lunch and a question and answer period!
