James (Xiaolong) Wang is a second-year Student at the University of Toronto, Trinity College, pursuing a Double Major in Political Science and Philosophy. Aspiring to become a lawyer, he lived in China for 12 years before moving to Singapore for 8 years. He speaks English and Mandarin Chinese, and has worked with the Model UN, the Canadian Centre for Responsibility to Protect (CCR2P), G20 and G7 Research Group, and the NATO Association of Canada. He worked with Myanmar military Junta during the coup to host an effective international Model UN conference during his high school years.
His academic interests are focused on the role of South East Asia and ASEAN countries in the international community, the ever-emerging crisis of disinformation welfare, and its impact on liberal democracy. Besides work, he is a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity and enjoys the french new wave and Italian neorealism cinema.
