Su Huai

Su Huai is a Ph.D. candidate in Science and Technology Studies at York University, specializing in the transnational history of science and technology. Her dissertation explores how cross-cultural knowledge exchanges influence identity and power dynamics. With a multidisciplinary background spanning public administration, international policy, and communication studies, Su bridges historical research with contemporary issues, including AI governance and digital policy.

An award-winning researcher, Su was recognized by Global Affairs Canada in the 2024 International Policy Ideas Challenge for her innovative proposal on Data Governance and Digital Standards in Public Services Amid Sino-American AI Competition. She has also contributed to policy projects in the Ontario public sector, examining AI applications in governance. Su has served as a Teaching Assistant at York University since 2021, supporting courses on technology, astronomy, and Chinese history. Her research affiliations include the York Centre for Asian Research and the Harvard STS Summer School, where she engaged with global scholars on themes of expertise and democracy.

    As a leading member of the Atlantic Treaty Association (ATA), NATO Association of Canada has strong and enduring ties with sister organizations in many of the alliance countries, as well as members of NATO’s “Partnership for Peace” and “Mediterranean Dialogue” programmes. The NAOC has had a leading role in the recent transformation and modernization of the ATA, and helped to create and develop the Youth Atlantic Treaty Association (YATA).

    The NAOC has strong ties with the Government of Canada including Global Affairs Canada and the Department of National Defence. We are constantly working to create and maintain relationships with international organizations such as the World Bank Group, the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development, NATO Headquarters, the International Criminal Court, and other prominent international NGOs and think tanks.
