Hamza Noor

Hamza Noor recently completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto, majoring in International Relations with minors in Near & Middle Eastern Civilisations and Political Science. He is now beginning his MA in European & Eurasian Studies at the Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy. He currently serves as a Program Editor with the NATO Association of Canada’s Energy Security Program. Hamza has extensive experience with the Global Governance Research Groups at the University of Toronto, having served as a Compliance Analyst for the G20 and G7 Research Groups and as Compliance Director for the BRICS Research Group. In these roles, he contributed to monitoring and assessing member state compliance with international commitments, producing evidence-based research to support analysis of global governance and multilateral cooperation. His research interests include Türkiye’s strategic role in Eurasia, the geopolitics of energy, and the security challenges posed by shifting global power dynamics. He is particularly interested in how states and institutions navigate these changes in pursuit of stability and cooperation.

The NAOC has had a leading role in the recent transformation and modernization of the ATA, and helped to create and develop the Youth Atlantic Treaty Association (YATA).

    The NAOC has strong ties with the Government of Canada including Global Affairs Canada and the Department of National Defence. We are constantly working to create and maintain relationships with international organizations such as the World Bank Group, the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development, NATO Headquarters, the International Criminal Court, and other prominent international NGOs and think tanks.
