Barış Atakan Kafadar is a recent graduate from the University of Edinburgh where he obtained a Master of Science degree in International Relations with Merit, and was awarded a first-class grade on his dissertation which delves into the intersection of crisis, securitization and democracy. Barış has also obtained a Honours Bachelor of Arts degree with Distinction from the University of Toronto having majored in international relations and peace, conflict and justice studies, and minored in diaspora and transnational studies.
Alongside his educational achievements, Barış has completed an internship at the NATO Association of Canada where he has had the opportunity to sharpen his analytical, research and organizational skills, and publish multiple articles relating to the topics of security and cooperation. Barış currently serves as a Board Member (and was previously Vice President) at the Federation of Canadian Turkish Associations, proudly representing and advocating on behalf of his community in Canada. Aspiring a career in the foreign service and policy development, Barış aims to gain invaluable hands-on experience to kickstart his career!
