Phoenix Seelochan is currently a fourth-year undergraduate student at the University of Toronto, pursuing a Combined Specialist in Economics and Political Science. In her role as Program Editor for the Environment, Climate Change, and Security Program, she aims to study and analyze the growing intersectionality between climate change and security, to which Canada and NATO continue to grow their focus through policies and projects. Through her work, she hopes to amplify the significance of climate change mitigations and adaptations on national and global security. Alongside her work with the NAOC, Phoenix works with the Canadian Government at Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada, and has previously worked with the Canada Border Services Agency. She has also served as an undergraduate representative on the University of Toronto Mississauga Campus Council. Phoenix hopes to pursue a career in global and Canadian policy analysis, aiming to help implement solutions for environmental and social injustices.
