Genevieve Zingg

Genevieve Zingg is a Junior Research Fellow at the NATO Association of Canada. She holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Toronto, and completed a study abroad program at the Università degli Studi di Siena in Italy. Her research interests include international development and human rights, global political economy, social innovation, and women’s empowerment. She has previously been an Associate Editor at Fair Observer’s Latin American bureau and the Director of Programming for Young Professionals in Foreign Policy in New York. She has completed two international internships, first with a humanitarian organization in Geneva, Switzerland and subsequently with the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs at the UN headquarters in New York. She was recently nominated for a United Nations Volunteer award for her pro bono work developing programs and communications strategy for international NGOs in Nepal, Sierra Leone, and Jamaica.

She is also a Compliance Analyst for the G7/G8 Research Group at the Munk School of Global Affairs and a researcher for the International Criminal Court Legal Tools Project. She has previously interned with the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs in New York and with an international humanitarian organization in Geneva. She holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto and completed a foreign exchange program at the Università degli Studi di Siena in Italy. Her research interests include EU foreign relations, international law, immigration and refugee policy, counterterrorism and security policy, and human rights, with a specific interest in the MENA region.
