Kathryn Langley Hope

Kathryn remains a long-standing and committed supporter of the NATO Association of Canada and the Canadian Armed Forces and their families. A strong visionary and empathetic leader with 25+ years of experience in health management, organizational leadership, and capacity building, Kathryn brings a wealth of knowledge that can continue to serve to scale up the NATO Association’s impact, and bolster its image, role and participation in the eyes of the Canadian public. She has a keen eye for recognizing where efforts must be aimed and where resources must be directed, as evidenced by her commitment to the NATO Association of Canada which she has supported for years with firm devotion in its key mission to educate the Canadian public on the rules-based order and civil society and the importance of Canada’s membership in NATO. She has strongly supported the internship program, remains a very active participant at Association events, and continues to act as a key representative and involved member within the organization in Canada and abroad.

BIO :

Currently, Kathryn is president of K. E. Hope Consultants, which has for over 25 years focused on both practice and patient care management, ergonomics, education and research in the allopathic and complementary health fields. Kathryn is also president of LaserHopeAssociates specializing in proven innovative technologies including Low Intensity Laser Therapy in Ontario. She is a graduate of The Wellesley Hospital School of Nursing, formerly of The University of Toronto, and also the University of Windsor. She has had a challenging, diverse, and exceptional career in Canada and the United States. Kathryn is a member  and patron of the Royal Ontario Museum Currelly Society and RPC, the Bata Shoe Museum Collector’s Circle, the Gardiner Museum, Art Gallery of Ontario, National Ballet and COC, Royal Canadian Military Institute, multiple regiments  and NATO Association of Canada, where she is now Vice Chair.  She supports and participates in many local charities including the Humane Society, Toronto Cat Rescue, Sistering, Street Health (Nurses), St Paul’s Food Bank, Salvation Army, NTCC Kettles “Out of the Cold”. She is an Empire Club of Canada Community Service Award recipient, Rotary Paul Harris 4 Sapphire Fellow, a Nightingale Honour Roll Nominee, Ontario Volunteer Service 15 yrs + Award, Dame of The Order of St George and The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal recipient. These achievements and many other contributions to the community outline the depth which she brings to our board.

    As a leading member of the Atlantic Treaty Association (ATA), NATO Association of Canada has strong and enduring ties with sister organizations in many of the alliance countries, as well as members of NATO’s “Partnership for Peace” and “Mediterranean Dialogue” programmes. The NAOC has had a leading role in the recent transformation and modernization of the ATA, and helped to create and develop the Youth Atlantic Treaty Association (YATA).

    The NAOC has strong ties with the Government of Canada including Global Affairs Canada and the Department of National Defence. We are constantly working to create and maintain relationships with international organizations such as the World Bank Group, the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development, NATO Headquarters, the International Criminal Court, and other prominent international NGOs and think tanks.
