Founder & CEO, Roshel Inc.
Roman Shimonov is the founder and CEO of Roshel, the leading North American producer of smart armored solutions. He immigrated to Canada 10 years ago. Before establishing Roshel, he founded and led a successful encryption company that provided services to defense clients.
In 2016, shortly after founding Roshel, Roman assembled a team of experienced professionals with decades of expertise in secure transportation. Under his leadership, Roshel quickly grew into one of the largest manufacturers of smart armored vehicles for government institutions and commercial corporations in North America and beyond.
Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, Roshel has pivoted to the mass production of its signature armored personnel carriers (APCs) and mine-resistant ambush-protected vehicles (MRAPs), including the Senator platform, for the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and other agencies involved in the defense effort. Roman strongly believes in self-reliance and the ingenuity of his team, which enable Roshel to deliver high-quality products with industry-leading turnaround times.
With over 400,000 sq. ft. of production space and more than 400 employees, Roshel manages the entire manufacturing process in-house, allowing for significant flexibility in customization and rigorous quality control. Roman also emphasizes continuous investment in innovation and R&D to ensure Roshel remains at the forefront of advanced armored solutions.
Roshel was established as a forward-looking and innovative company, consistently enhancing its existing platforms and developing new products. In line with this vision, in 2023 the company planned to introduce its first fully electric utility and last-mile delivery vehicles to address evolving transportation and logistics needs.
Roman holds an MBA from the University of Toronto.
