With a distinguished career of over 25 years, John is widely recognized as one of the top Preferred Share Experts in Canada. John has excellent relationships with major institutional accounts, the securities legal community, major corporate issuers and regulatory authorities with whom he has worked over the years. He has held leadership roles in sales, trading, and research and has been a major participant in developing new preferred share products such as the rate reset preferred structure first offered in March of 2008. He has also been very active in the community as a trustee with the Toronto Symphony Foundation, is a patron of many of Canada’s leading arts organizations such as the National Youth Orchestra of Canada(2006-2015) and for many years has been a director of the NATO Association of Canada. He is also a member of the Patient and Family Advisory Committee at Sunnybrook Health Science Centre and a member of the Institute of Canadian Directors. Areas of Focus: John is experienced in establishing an Institutional Preferred Share Desk with expertise in trading, sales, research and co-operation with corporate finance in initiating and improving syndicate positions.

We strive to educate and engage Canadians about NATO and NATO’s goal of peace, prosperity and security. NATO Association of Canada ensures that we have an informed citizenry able to contribute to discussions about Canada’s role on the world stage.
As a leading member of the Atlantic Treaty Association (ATA), NATO Association of Canada has strong and enduring ties with sister organizations in many of the alliance countries, as well as members of NATO’s “Partnership for Peace” and “Mediterranean Dialogue” programmes. The NAOC has had a leading role in the recent transformation and modernization of the ATA, and helped to create and develop the Youth Atlantic Treaty Association (YATA).
The NAOC has strong ties with the Government of Canada including Global Affairs Canada and the Department of National Defence. We are constantly working to create and maintain relationships with international organizations such as the World Bank Group, the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development, NATO Headquarters, the International Criminal Court, and other prominent international NGOs and think tanks.
