Inpyo Nam

Inpyo Nam is a Junior Research Fellow with the NATO Association of Canada, where his research focuses on emerging security challenges, particularly drone threats to energy infrastructure and broader energy security issues. He serves in the Republic of Korea Army and has experience in military operations, security, and defence policy. During his career, he has served with the Republic of Korea Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Republic of Korea Army Headquarters, the United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP), and the ROK-U.S. Combined Division. He holds a Master’s degree in Peace Studies from Kyung Hee University and is particularly interested in how emerging technologies are reshaping national and international security. Through his research, he aims to contribute to practical policy discussions on strengthening security preparedness and response capabilities in the face of evolving threats.

The NAOC has had a leading role in the recent transformation and modernization of the ATA, and helped to create and develop the Youth Atlantic Treaty Association (YATA).

    The NAOC has strong ties with the Government of Canada including Global Affairs Canada and the Department of National Defence. We are constantly working to create and maintain relationships with international organizations such as the World Bank Group, the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development, NATO Headquarters, the International Criminal Court, and other prominent international NGOs and think tanks.
