Dr. Michael Leahy

Dr. Michael Leahy holds a BA (History & Philosophy), an MEd (Education) and a PhD (Planning &

Management). His firm Leahy Research is a private research and analytics business, carrying out research on historical books, documents and rare manuscripts. Reports go to academic institutions, libraries, historical societies, and collectors across the globe. Research is carried out on financial data & strategies to analyze capital markets and find tradeable opportunities. He has also published a large website specializing in information. about the Great Lakes.

Dr. Leahy began his career in education, including both public and private sectors. He served as Executive Director of a private school. Subsequently, he served as President of a private education firm that worked with adults who had been seriously injured in industrial accidents. He has worked in the United States as a consultant to a large international education organization.

For many years, Dr. Leahy was a platform speaker for investment and retirement planning seminars across Ontario on behalf of a large professional organization. He wrote a monthly investment planning column as well.

Dr. Leahy serves with the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary, the Canadian Coast Guard’s marine auxiliary

Search And Rescue organization. He holds a Master’s (Limited) License. He serves on the Governance

Committee of CCGA Central and Arctic Region.

Dr. Leahy has been actively involved in community service, focusing on support for less-privileged

adolescents and support for food security programs. He has twice received the Toronto Police Service

Community Service Award for his work. Dr. Leahy is a member of and served on the Board of Directors of the Royal Canadian Military Institute. He is a member of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem, a charitable organization with long historical roots in providing aid to those in need.

    The NAOC has strong ties with the Government of Canada including Global Affairs Canada and the Department of National Defence. We are constantly working to create and maintain relationships with international organizations such as the World Bank Group, the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development, NATO Headquarters, the International Criminal Court, and other prominent international NGOs and think tanks.
