Sare Sulaiman received her Honours Bachelor of Arts from Carleton University majoring in Political Science with a minor in Business. Sare has cultivated expertise in policy research, advocacy, and strategic communications through her academic and professional experiences. She has contributed to initiatives focused on governance, human rights, and community engagement, with a particular focus on Uyghur human rights advocacy. Her work includes advancing policy recommendations, conducting research on transnational repression, and engaging with governmental and international stakeholders to promote accountability and justice. Driven by a passion for international relations and a commitment to defending the rights of marginalized communities, Sare is dedicated to amplifying the voices of Uyghurs and advancing global human rights protections. At the NATO Association of Canada, she aims to engage in dialogue regarding Canada’s future in human rights advocacy, international security cooperation, and the protection of vulnerable communities on the global stage.

As a leading member of the Atlantic Treaty Association (ATA), NATO Association of Canada has strong and enduring ties with sister organizations in many of the alliance countries, as well as members of NATO’s “Partnership for Peace” and “Mediterranean Dialogue” programmes. The NAOC has had a leading role in the recent transformation and modernization of the ATA, and helped to create and develop the Youth Atlantic Treaty Association (YATA).
The NAOC has strong ties with the Government of Canada including Global Affairs Canada and the Department of National Defence. We are constantly working to create and maintain relationships with international organizations such as the World Bank Group, the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development, NATO Headquarters, the International Criminal Court, and other prominent international NGOs and think tanks.
