Karim Abdelati is the Canadian Armed Forces Program Editor at the NATO Association of Canada. Karim graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and International Relations. Most recently, he completed a Postgraduate program in International Development at Humber’s School of Business in Toronto, where his primary academic interests focused on Democratic Governance, Human Security, and International Development Policy. Additionally, Karim has acquired valuable project management and report writing skills designing development proposals and humanitarian response plans in the sectors of education and security, using Global Affairs Canada’s Results-Based Management programming approach for international development assistance. Through his position at the NATO Association of Canada, Karim intends to build on his research of international military operations that have a large humanitarian component, and advocate the need for a better strategic understanding of the relationship between development and security in International Relations. As an emerging Humanitarian Professional, Karim strives to become a specialist in the field, and learn from meaningful experiences in the area of Post-Conflict Reconstruction and Peacebuilding in the Middle East and North Africa.
