Joelle Westlund was a Research Analyst at The NATO Association of Canada. She recently completed her Master’s Degree in Political Science at the University of Toronto. Joelle holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Political Science from the University of Toronto and has been actively involved in various research projects with faculty members and academic organizations. In 2010 Joelle worked in Kenya and Tanzania for five months on CIDA funded projects where she focused primarily on educational programs designed to promote gender equality and equity. Her recent studies of conflict resolution in Arab-Israeli relations at The Hebrew University in Jerusalem has made important contributions to her current focus on gender security and the role of women in conflict management and peace-building efforts.
